Bud Canna Butter

This recipe is going to make 1 Cup of Butter or 2 sticks of butter.

Use the Magical Butter Machine

OR

 

Things you will need:

  1. Crockpot preferably a small one or a double boiler.
  2. 2 Sticks of Butter. I add about 2 tsps over to account for loss.
  3. 14 grams of Bud-or more if you like.
  4. Cheese Cloth or Fine metal Strainer.
  5. Container for finished product that can handle Heat. Don’t use plastic.
  6. Coffee Grinder or Hand Grinder

 

The Process

  1. Pre-Heat the oven to 240 Degrees. You will need to Decarboxylation the Bud.  AKA Decarb.  This is a very important step.  This step makes your butter stronger. It Turns THC-A into THC. 
  2. Grind up all the bud, coffee grinder works great.
  3. Place Bud on cookie sheet or a oven safe Pyrex dish.
  4. Once oven is pre-heated place in oven for 40 min.
  5. Turn crockpot on low or get double boiler going and melt the Butter. Add 1 cup of water. Don’t  let Temp to go above 165 Degrees.
  6. Add Bud to the crockpot and mix around, cover and let sit.
  7. Check on it frequently and stir.
  8. Cooking time 6-8 hours.
  9. Strain through cheesecloth or fine metal strainer.  Try to get every last drop out.
  10. Then rinse cheesecloth or strainer with some WARM water, to get all active ingredient into the bowl.  Don’t worry about the excess water-you will discard later anyway.
  11. Place in the Fridge over-night, then separate the butter and water.
  12. Use in your favorite Recipes.

    Is the water added to the butter important? can i use just butter? to more coocking time more thc is extracted? to more quantity of cannabis less time of coocking? does the butter looses potency if melted in microwave? I have so many questions….
